C G Meats

Chris first started work as a butcher at the young age of 8 with C.F. Roberts who at the time delivered meat to Chris' mother.

By the time Chris was 12 he could make sausages, brawn hogg pudding, cook ham, make dripping and bone a side of meat such as beef, pork and lamb.

Chris left school at 16 and went to work for Dewhurst butchers for two years after which time he moved to a catering butchers in falmouth docks, supplying boats, hotels, restaurants and capes. Chris has put meat on the QE2, the Fort Grange and supplied the MOD Royal Auxilary to feed the troops at war in the falklands.

Chris moved to Newquay in 1980, gaining experience in many of the regions catering butchers before finally establishing his own catering butchers C. G. Meats in Hope Terrace Yard, Newquay

Business rapidly flourished and in 2004 Chris' second son Duncan joined the business. By 2005 Duncan was successfuly managing the butchers and Chris became surplus to requirements!
